Question by LostN919: What is the difference between social science and social work? What is the difference between social science and social work? how long does it take to get a bachelors in social science and in social work? i think its the same, can i do the same with both degrees? Best answer:

Answer by tehabwa
Doing social science is studying people, doing research, adding to our understanding of social phenomena. Social work involves helping people directly. Things like seeing that foster homes are stuitable, helping the poor get job training, or getting people various other kinds of help. (I'm not entirely clear on this, myself.) Uh, getting a Bachelor's degree takes about 4 years, whichever field one chooses. No, the two degrees aren't the same (though you'd probably take a few of the same classes, whichever you went for).
