Question by Tim B: Buying a house how do I figure what my taxes will be? I am buying a house. The value of the house is 160k. I am buying it for 90k. It has 3 acres. What will the taxes be on it? Well the seller owns 2 houses on a total of 20+ acres. I am buying 3 acres and 1 of the house. The house is 4 years old. They pay taxes on all of the land. You need to find out what the taxing entities are and find out what is the tax rate for the current year. A taxing entity might be: The city, county, local hospital, community college etc. Call the city to find out what the taxing entitys are. Then call the tax office and find out the tax rate. Keep in mind that the tax rate could change from year to year.
