Dungeon Rampage is a simplistic version of Diablo style RPG action for Facebook. With Dungeon Rampage players take control of a hero and battle their way through randomly-generated dungeons with three fellow teammates. When going through the dungeons players attempt to level up, and acquire loot and a great deal of monsters. Defeating enemies rewards players with experience, coins and gold stars. While playing with other people, all of these items are shared equally among players.

Dungeon Rampage keeps gameplay simple and overflowing with action. Gameplay is controlled through a top-down view of the game world. Movement is achieved via mouse clicking or simply moving via the arrow keys on the keyboard. Players have three weapon skills that can be equipped at any time, Player skills can be accessed by the Z,X and C keys on the keyboard. tapping the keys will activate simple fast attacks where as holding them down will "Charge" a larger attack, but as this ability charges the players are vulnerable to attack.

Defeating enemies, we spoke of stars, the Gold Stars fuel a special meter in the bottom right corner of the screen. When the special meter is full, each character type can let loose special abilities that range from a very strong attack to invincibility or both. This "super attack" should be saved for times when there are multiple mobs or encounters when great power is needed.

Once completing a dungeon, a summary screen is shown where players may see how many enemies they have defeated, and what treasures and equipment the team found in the treasure chests throughout the dungeon. Also there is an accounting of how much bonus experience that has been awarded. Once a dungeon is complete and the summary is closed players are taken back to the town screen, where they may improve their characters' statistics if they level up, purchase new  items, recruit new heroes or simply head back into the dungeons.

Players have the option of one of six character classes for free.The Berserker is a melee warrior who can take a lot of damage, referred to as a "tank" by fans of the genre. He is a good choice for beginning players. Upon earning a few hundred gold coins, players may then recruit the Ranger character, who is more fragile but moves more quickly and can attack at long range with her bow. Other characters available include a Sorcerer, Battle Chef, Vampire Hunter, and Ghost Samurai, though unlocking these characters requires hard currency.

Similarly, unlocking new appearance options for heroes also requires hard currency, as do items which allow players to resurrect themselves upon death, special weapons, storage space upgrades,  pets and keys to unlock new dungeon levels — though the latter may also be acquired by either waiting or asking friends via Wall post. If anything, the monetization of this game errs on the side of "excessive," with players wanting to unlock all the possible character combinations and appearance options potentially looking at a hefty Facebook Credits bill if they aren't careful. There does not appear to be a means to earn hard currency through play, though the game does feature an offer wall through which players may earn gems.

One of the sad things is even though there is a basic item shop, the game also features banner advertisements underneath the game canvas. The bad part of this the ads include the less reputable websites and the all so sleazy "one weird tip" adverts. All in all the game is fun to play just beware of the adverts.
